Identify the vehicle-side requirements
Request a clear inlet photograph, vehicle identity and applicable charging documentation. Confirm the supported AC arrangement for that specific Bao 5 rather than borrowing a figure from another model year or newer announcement. Ask which supplied cable or device is included and photograph its label. A connector that appears to fit is not a complete compatibility assessment. The relevant vehicle limits, electrical system and equipment approvals must all be considered. Where the seller cannot establish the specification, keep the installation purchase on hold until it is verified.
Describe the parking location accurately
Tell the installer whether the car will park in a private driveway, shared garage or rented space, and provide the intended equipment position and cable route. Ownership or management permission may be needed. Include exposure to weather, pedestrian routes and the distance to the electrical supply. Do not estimate installation solely from a photograph of a socket. The practical route can change equipment selection and cost. A charging arrangement should support ordinary daily parking without creating an improvised cable path through doors, public walkways or other unsuitable locations.
Use a qualified electrical survey
The installer should assess supply capacity, protective measures, earthing and the applicable local requirements. These are property-specific engineering decisions, not settings to copy from a vehicle advert. Do not improvise adapters, extension leads or protective-device arrangements. Request a written scope identifying equipment, installation work, commissioning and exclusions. If an upgrade is required, confirm its approval and timing before assuming the vehicle can charge on arrival. The survey may also clarify whether the desired charging schedule is practical within the property's existing electrical capacity.
Calculate needs from the daily routine
Describe typical daily distance, parking duration and access to alternative charging. Avoid treating a brochure range as a guarantee of how much energy will be needed every evening. Weather, route and actual use affect the result. Compare the available overnight window with a realistic charging plan for the verified vehicle and installation. A higher advertised charger rating does not mean the Bao 5 will accept that power. The limiting vehicle and installation conditions must be considered together, with estimates clearly distinguished from measured performance.
Include equipment and installation in the budget
Ask for separate costs for the charging device, property work, permissions, commissioning and any ongoing service. A supplied portable unit may not be approved or suitable for the destination arrangement. Do not price it as a completed installation merely because it comes with the car. Connect the estimate to the Bao 5 landed-cost plan. If completion will be delayed, budget a verified interim charging route rather than assuming an untested public station or a household socket will be available and appropriate.
Commission and demonstrate the finished system
After installation, the qualified provider should complete the required checks and demonstrate normal use with compatible equipment. Retain the commissioning record and instructions. Observe a supported charging session and record any warnings or interruptions without bypassing protections. A successful brief connection is not proof of every operating condition, but it establishes more than a connector photograph. Keep vehicle-side issues separate from installation issues so the right provider can investigate. Stop using equipment that shows damage, overheating or a relevant fault and follow professional guidance.
Plan the first week before shipment
For example, a buyer may have suitable private parking but still need landlord approval and electrical work. The vehicle can be technically compatible while the property is not yet ready. Set milestones for permission, installation and commissioning before arrival. If those milestones cannot be met, confirm another legitimate charging arrangement or reconsider timing. The Bao 5's engine should not be used as a reason to ignore an essential charging requirement. The purchase should match the buyer's intended routine, including what will actually be available during the first week.
Buyer checklist
- Verify the actual Bao 5 AC equipment and supplied device labels.
- Obtain permission and a qualified property assessment.
- Budget installation and a realistic charging schedule.
- Retain commissioning records and a verified arrival plan.
Questions and answers
Does a supplied cable mean my home is ready?
No. Vehicle compatibility, equipment suitability and the property installation are separate questions. Have a qualified local installer assess the complete arrangement.
Will a higher-rated charger always charge the car faster?
No. The vehicle and installation impose their own limits. Use confirmed specifications and operating conditions rather than the charging device rating alone.
